We wanted to have some Surinamese food while visiting the Netherlands, and spotted this restaurant. The pom and kerrie kipfilet were both absolutely fabulous – generous portions, friendly staff and swift service. Really impressed!
We went there hungry, we left super filled with AWESOME FOOD, it was super tasty.
The Meat dishes were amazing, the vegan chicken dish was also great!
The vegan/vegetarian Menu is the same size as the “normal” one.
I also had the Carrot Cake, which tasted like Christmas!
Really good portion for food and I would say it’s considered authentic! We ordered koe lou yok and moksie metie, both came with such huge portion of rice too. In the end we have to takeaway for another meals because we were full.
Moksie metie is surinamese style of charsiew, siew yok, roasted chicken and pork sausage altogether, usually comes with sauce and vege, not served dry like the usual asian ones.
Dumplings in soup were full of flavour. Spicy prawn dish was delicious…would have been nicer if frozen prawns were not used. Buddha vegetables were in a plain sauce which went well with the spicy dish. A lovely mix of veg too. Jasmine tea was great! Good service too. Recommend.
Had a group of 8 people and we let the server choose the dishes to serve and it was amazing. Every starter and entree was great. Price at the end was very reasonable.
Food is here is always 100% on point and delicious. Never had a negative experience at this restaurant. Always greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel welcome. Vegetarian and vegan options are simply delicious and food presentation is perfect. Extensive menu that delivers on flavour and guaranteed to satisfy. 🙏
Food is excellent here specially if you are vegetarian. Lot of variety in substitute meat. Portions as well as taste was good.

The food is fresh and lovely flavoured. They have many options for meat lovers, to tasty vegetarian, to no nonsense good vegan food and all adaptable.
The portions are quite large for a reasonable price. We (2 ppl) chose the “Buddha delight”, a mixed fresh vegetable dish with aburrage and rice for 13.50 (see image)
Don’t be fooled by the portions. We bought 2 portions (meaning 2 large tubs of boiled rice and 2 large tubs of vegetables) and some springrolls and ate for 2 days!

Great Chinese-Surinamese place with a huge menu. Kind & quick service, big and tasty portions.
Great vegan broodje kip kerrie and vegan roti (make sure to ask without egg)!
(Brown bun is vegan, white bun has egg)
Hopefully they will also start using less plastic soon.
Pleasantly surprised that they have a huge selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes! Will definitely come back to try out other dishes
Located in a very busy street, De Kade is an amazing place to get some next-level dishes for even more amazing prices. As a spice-addict I couldn’t get enough of their sambal and had 2 sandwiches, one with Sia Siew and one with Foe Yong Hai.

Great service, friendly staff, and also great for vegans or vegetarians.
My favorites are the chicken cashew dish, corn soup, and vegan Buddha’s delight. The food is consistently good although my least favorite items on the menu are the Caribbean dishes. In my opinion, taste-wise not what it’s supposed to be.
Nevertheless highly recommended if you’re visiting Rotterdam!

Incredible & authentic Asian food, plenty of vegetarian & vegan options – very much recommending Chinese dishes, very tasty. Service was very friendly too.
This is such an institution! Grab a sandwich or dine in. They have an extensive menu with a large vegan section. So you can really take anyone there. Service is very fast and even in the most insane rush hour traffic they have never made a mistake with any of my orders. Love De Kade!!!
Loved the crispy pork belly (Geroosterd spek) sandwich and Curry Chicken (Zwarte bonen kip) sandwich both we took with sambal which was spicy and tasty! We also ordered the Wan Tan soup🍲🥟 filled with pork and shrimp dumplings. It was simple and just heart warming.❤️ Really loved the food and would definitely recommend this place if you just wanna eat outside but don’t wanna spend too much.😁
