I recently visited this Japanese barbecue restaurant to celebrate a birthday, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality meats and fresh ingredients to choose from. The flavors were outstanding, and the grilling experience was both interactive and enjoyable. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed and accommodated our requests. To top it off, the dessert was a delightful end to the meal. Overall, it was a successful celebration thanks to the great food, good service, and pleasant atmosphere of this Japanese barbecue restaurant. Highly recommended!

Staff is friendly and the place is really nicely decorated.
this restaurant is all about BBQ’ing that meat! so be prepared to get some protein overload…and please come here with your empty stomachs…YES that’s right don’t eat breakfast and lunch and skip everything to this dinner…it will be a feast that counts as 3 meals.
the Bibimbap is also tasty! we ordered it twice (the portion is quite big so if you’re with a group it should be no problem)
i was surprised by the Curry rice..it was really nice to eat 🙂
a neat feature is that some of the seafood things they serve in aluminium tins so it won’t stick on the grill…(usually some of those seafood things are quite saucy and things can get messy if you grill everything on the pan) but with this it’s no problem!
Good and super quality with the highest level of services personal services. Price also good and atmosphere is fantastic. The good and friendly services from Mano makes everything complete. Thanks a lot and we will come back soon and more times!!!
Very nice staff and very helpful! Probably since we were the first ones to arrive today, but the attention was nice and friendly.
The meat was very good. With some pointers how to cook the meat, it was easy and delicious. I liked the labels with information what part of the beef you were eating and it’s origin country. Not everything was from Japan, but the quality was great!
The only thing I didn’t like was the shrimp side, but that was no problem. You came at a meat restaurant to eat meat!
Great place to eat in Rotterdam Zuid. Got a nice, varied selection of menu items, a nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. All ingredients for the sushi and the meat are of noticable high quality, even the salmon!
The only point of negative feedback I can think of is that the menu is quite safe, it doesn’t offer any special options for meat (small selection of beef cuts) or sushi (no hotate, no ikura).
Overall I would rate this restaurant above other all you can eats and Japanese/Korean BBQ’s in Rotterdam. Recommended for small groups!
Definitely recommend this place! Japanese bbq and so much more to order! The food was really nice and it was my 3rd time coming here. Love the fact that you do not smell like the bbq when you come back home!
Love it! This place looks upscale but definitely more casual then you would think. Everything was very good. I really enjoyed all the meat, the kimchi rice, the scallops, I would definitely return!
Came last week with a few friends to dinner. The host recommended us the best platter, the nagoya platter was fantastic. The quality of the meat was great, really good service, we had a wonderful evening. 👍🏾

This is an amazing place to go to. Especially when you want to have a relaxed meal with friends. The staff is friendly, the food is superb and the atmosphere is pleasant.
I can recommend any of the ‘Wagyu’ containing platters as the beef is just gorgeous and marbled to perfection.

I’ve definitely been to Oniku before and I enjoy my time there every time I drop by. A big menu, for both food and drinks, and stylish interior design. However, this review is about the service. The last time I went (a little over 4 days ago) I had the most amazing dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Every single server that helped us was so incredibly helpful and kind. It was quite honestly amazing to dine there with such a great staff. I’m definitely going back soon!
I love sushi, I love BBQ. Why not both? Oniku gives you the option to have both. Their sushi is good, and the meat is good as well, which makes Oniku a perfect recipe for every fan who loves Japanese food like sushi and BBQ.
The price is not bad for what you get. We also got a lot of free extra things, so that was nice.
So if you like BBQ and sushi, this is the place to be.

We had early dinner right after a Feyenoord game to help with easing the crowd in the tram and trains. We weren’t really looking for phenomenal experience or food, but we found it! From friendly and speedy service to delicious food, everything was awesome. We liked the experience so much that we might make some Rotterdam trips from Amsterdam to have lunch or dinner here at times!
Great service, good food, highly recommend. We sat at a BBQ table, all you can eat and ordered from our phones which was very easy. The service was very accommodating and the food came out very fast once we ordered. If you’re looking for a korean BBQ and japanese sushi experience this will hit the spot. The atmosphere is very chilled also.
Great service, amazing meat and sides. For dessert mochi icecream is the best.
The portions are greater than expected, sides are wide variety, both warm and cold. We haven’t tried everything but we are definitely going to come back.
The grill is not smelly at all. Sauces are brilliant!

It’s a good AYCE-restaurant to eat at, they serve different Japanese dishes: e.g. sushi, meat and fish dishes, a couple vegetarian dishes and BBQ (the BBQ is included for an extra fee of €4,-) what’s outstanding is not the sushi, but the other dishes Oniku has to offer. Most of the meat has been prepared very well and ultimately this is what sets Oniku apart from the other AYCE-restaurants.
Another thing that was noteworthy is the splendid customer service/care the people show towards you. This all together made our day while eating there.
