Very nice restaurant, with great interior design and staff that is proud about what they’re serving.
A few hours before the reservation we were contacted by the restaurant to ensure our evening would meet our expectations, allergies were asked about and they also asked about our schedule so they could properly space out our dishes during the evening. Everything went smooth.
We had the six course meal and paid for the optional menu items, this meant the beet tartar got switched out for their cultural interpretation of Fish & Chips, next to that we also opted for the Wagyu which has been a longstanding item on my food list. Both dishes were worth the investment as the Fish & Chips interpretation was a fantastic take on a classic dish with the caviar and the sweet potato crisps which all came together if you dipped the crisps in the caviar and the omelette foam.
The Wagyu also deserved endless praise as it was so tender and of high quality that the meat just melted away in your mouth.
The flavour combinations of all dishes were excellent, multiple combinations which I would’ve never put together by myself really took me on that fusion journey that the restaurant takes pride in.
All in all it was a great experience, my only point of critique would be for the restaurant to properly thaw their Mozarella, as I had a frozen ball of it on my dish which took away from it’s complimentary flavour within the dish itself.
What a great surprise. Beautiful food and cooked to perfection. Their staff is Michelin level. The Kazakh gentleman working there was top notch and very attentive. We left very very satisfied!

This restaurant is definitely one of my favorites in Rotterdam. I love fine dining but mostly Western food… but here you get Asian food with a Western touch! What a perfect harmony 🙂

The food was amazing and super tasty! Family owned business. Son and dad in the kitchen, mom in service in the restaurant, all with a passion for food. Lovely people, extremely tasty food. Mild downside is the ambience of the restaurant which the owners are aware of (recently renovated the kitchen, next up the decor and furniture). Would totally recommend it!

This is our go to restaurant for a proper date night. We have been here a few times and every time it got a bit better.
This evening the menu was made of light, fresh and natural flavored dishes, everything worked together.
There is still some room to grow, especially in the amuses. But Ono for us stays one the better restaurants in Rotterdam.
Modern sushi is the best description for this wonderful restaurant that not only commands a stunning view but provide guests with a wonderful dining experience. It remains authentic of course but the modern touches certainly appeal to the wider population. Highly recommended!
The food was well balanced, i had Waygu before, but never like this. Amazing!
And even though the restaurant was full it was not noisy; a very pleasant atmosphere.
This place is fantastic. It is hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever visited, and to experience that goodness you need to shell out some cash. Do not do some plain sushi. Go for the five, six or seven course menus instead. Pure heaven. Pure bliss. Fantastic.

We’ve been here twice the past couple of months and have had great experiences on both occasions. The quality of the sushi is so fresh, the service is fantastic and the environment is super comfortable with nice views over looking the harbour.
My second visit to Ono, the food was amazing – again.
Service was good as well. I liked the follow-up to my reservation by phone, handeling of allergies and deviation from the menu. Reception and service were outstanding. It was quite pricy, maybe there is room for improvement here. Also, the food experience would be better if we knew what we were eating. We would immediately forget the explanation from the waiter, it was so much and quick. Maybe leave a detailed menu with ingrediënts on the table?
The 5-course seasonal menu was a very well done mix of summery dishes with Asian influences. Attentive and friendly staff. Not cheap but worth it for a special night out. Nice mocktails.
Outstanding food experience at Kop van Zuid. Welcoming and friendly staff that make sure you enjoy a nice dinner experience. We opted for a 7 course meal with a half wine arrangement and every course was a delight. Nice pairing of wines as well, especially with a more unusual wine. Thank you for the nice evening!
Genuinely one of the best sushi restaurants in the Netherlands. I’ve had dinner here a few times now and can genuinely recommend it from the pure quality of the sushi alone.
Hands down the best sushi my family and I have ever had. We got started off with an amuse bouche and then we had a variety of classic rolls, all of them made with an interesting twist. They looked stunning and tasted incredible. Their carafe and cups for the sake were beautiful and the service was impeccable.
Had a great time here! The terrace was opened for us even though it was supposed to be closed that day. The sushi was amazing, never had better. The service was exquisite. When it got a bit chilly ournwaitress put on the terrace heater without us having to ask for it. We will definitely go there again.

The waiter was super friendly and had mask on (something that is rare to find now in The Netherlands). Sushi is amazing and the mix of flavours is great!
